Due date	Last day of the month in which the date of filing of the European patent application which led to the Unitary Patent occurred
Time limit for payment without surcharge	Due date i.e. last day of the month in which the date of the filing of European patent application which led to the Unitary Patent occurred
Earliest possible payment date	Payment may not be made more than 3 months before due date
Time limit for payment with surcharge	Up to 6 months of the due date
Surcharge	50% office fee + 100% attorney's fee

It is the policy of our office to renew Unitary Patents only which we represent and not to advance office fees for new clients.

Representation

We do not charge an additional fee for taking over representation when renewing German patents.

There are two ways of taking over representation:

The preferred way is that you provide a PDF copy of an executed Power of Attorney (PoA) or have our PoA executed by your client. The advantage of this method is that the present representative does not need to cooperate.
Alternatively you may instruct your present representative to terminate his representation. Then we may take over without presenting a PoA.
